Who can apply for an Iraq eVisa online?
Travellers whose passport nationality is supported by our application form can submit a request through eVisa Iraq. The eligible countries page lets you check your nationality and continue to the application.
- Select your passport nationality. Your country of residence is a separate detail.
- Use the passport you intend to travel with. The application details must match that document.
- If your nationality is not supported, contact us. Do not choose another nationality to continue.
Online availability means you can submit an application through this service. Final visa approval is decided by the Iraqi authorities.
How long does Iraq visa processing take?
eVisa Iraq uses two processing groups. Select your nationality in the application form to see the group that applies to you.
Examples include United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, Germany and France passport holders.
Examples include Turkey, Georgia, Armenia, Jordan, Brazil and South Africa passport holders.
Allow enough time for your group before departure. If your trip is several months away, tell us your intended arrival date before applying so the application can be planned around your travel dates. Read the processing-time guide or urgent application guidance.
What documents do you need?
Prepare these items before opening the application:
- Your passport: at least six months of validity remaining from your intended arrival date.
- A complete passport copy: a clear colour image of the information page, with all four corners and the passport number readable.
- A recent personal photo: face the camera against a plain white or light background, with your face clearly visible.
- Your travel details: intended arrival date, visit purpose and planned length of stay.
- An accessible email address: use an inbox you can check for confirmation, document requests and your application result.

Visa validity and permitted stay: two different dates
The time available to enter Iraq and the time you are allowed to stay are different parts of your visa. Read both on your approval and arrival instructions before travelling.
Entry validity
This is the period during which you can use the visa to enter Iraq. Check the entry deadline shown on your issued document.
Permitted stay
This is the length of time you are authorised to remain after entry. Plan your departure within the stay allowed by your visa and immigration record.
The Iraq visas available through our service are single-entry.

Avoid common application problems
Glare over passport details
Check the image at full size. Retake it if a reflection, finger or shadow covers the passport number or other information.
A previous application
If you already submitted a request, share its application number and status with our support team before submitting another. A completed request and a pending request need different handling.
Unfinished payment
If you are unsure whether payment completed, contact support with your application reference before paying again.
Missed email requests
Check your inbox and spam folder during processing. Send requested corrections promptly so your application can move forward.

Before you travel to Iraq
- Receive your approval before departure. A submitted application or payment confirmation is not an approved visa.
- Check the issued details. Review the name, passport number, validity and permitted stay.
- Carry your documents. Keep a printed approval and a digital copy with the passport used for the application.
- Read your arrival instructions. Follow the entry arrangements provided with your approval.
A Kurdistan Region visa is for travel within the Kurdistan Region. It does not replace the visa required for travel to federal Iraq.
