Who can benefit from the Iraq e-Visa system?

Nationals of the following countries are eligible to apply for the Iraq e-Visa:

Australia, Austria, Bahrain, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, China, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Kuwait, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Oman, Poland, Portugal, Qatar, Romania, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, United States.

If you hold a passport from one of these countries, you can apply online and receive your visa upon arrival by presenting your e-Visa approval.

How long does it take to process the Iraq e-Visa?

The e-Visa is typically processed within 6 to 72 hours. Most applicants receive a response within one business day.

Do I need to visit the embassy to get the visa?

No. The entire process is conducted online. You do not need to visit an Iraqi embassy or consulate.

How will I receive the e-Visa?

Your e-Visa will be delivered to your email address as a PDF file. Make sure your email is entered correctly when applying.

What should I do after receiving the e-Visa?

After receiving your e-Visa by email:
-Print a copy and keep it with you during travel
-Show it at passport control upon arrival in Iraq
-Your visa will be issued and stamped into your passport at the entry point

What should I do if I don’t receive my e-Visa within 72 hours?

How long should my passport be valid before applying for an e-Visa?

Your passport must be valid for at least six (6) months from the date you intend to enter Iraq.
If it’s valid for less than six months, you must renew it before applying.

My nationality is not listed among the eligible countries. What should I do?

If your nationality is not listed, you must apply for a visa through:
-The nearest Iraqi embassy or consulate, or
-An authorized travel agency inside Iraq
e-Visa applications are only accepted from nationals of the countries listed in Question 1.

My e-Visa application was rejected. Can I get a refund?

No, visa fees are non-refundable.
If your e-Visa application is rejected, you will not receive a refund under any circumstances.

The most common reasons for rejection include:

  • Previous overstay in Iraq
  • Incorrect or inaccurate information in your application, such as:
    • Selecting a nationality that does not match your passport
    • Entering false personal or travel information
  • Passport validity less than six (6) months from your intended entry date

To avoid rejection, ensure:

  • All information is accurate and matches your passport exactly
  • Your passport is valid for at least 6 months from your planned date of arrival in Iraq
  • You select the correct nationality based on the passport you will use to travel

Accepted

  • Neutral face, no smile
  • Face fully visible, looking straight at camera
  • White or light gray background
  • No headwear (unless for religion, face must be clear)
  • Clear, well-lit, recent photo (last 6 months)

Not Accepted

  • Smiling, tilted head
  • Colored or messy background
  • Sunglasses, hats, or face blocked
  • Blurry, dark, or too bright
  • Old or edited photos

  • Full-color, clear image of the photo page
  • All info (name, number, photo) must be readable
  • Passport valid at least 6 months from entry date
  • Nothing cut off or cropped

Not Accepted

  • Black & white or low quality
  • Blurry, dark, or overexposed
  • Cropped or missing parts
  • Expired or less than 6 months validity
