Iraq Visa for Pakistani Passport Holders
Do Pakistani Passport Holders Need an Embassy Visa?
In general, Pakistani passport holders must apply for an Iraq visa through the Iraqi embassy or consulate in their country of residence.
Standard online submission is not available in most cases. Therefore, applicants should prepare to follow the embassy-based application process unless they qualify under the exception described below.
Exception: When Online Application May Be Available
Pakistani passport holders may apply online only if they hold a valid multi-entry visa or valid residency permit issued by one of the following countries:
- European Union member states
- United States
- United Kingdom
- Canada
- Australia
- New Zealand
The visa or residency permit must be valid for at least 90 days from the intended date of entry into Iraq.
In addition, the applicant must present the original valid document upon arrival in Iraq.
Important Eligibility Notice
If the applicant does not hold one of the qualifying multi-entry visas or residency permits listed above, online application is not permitted.
Furthermore, failure to meet this requirement or failure to present the original valid document upon arrival may result in the application being declined.
Applications submitted without meeting the eligibility criteria are not eligible for a refund.
Processing Time for Eligible Applicants
If the applicant qualifies under the exception, processing typically follows Group B timelines:
- Estimated processing time: 8 to 18 business days
Because verification may require additional review, applicants should apply well in advance of travel.
Documents Required for Eligible Online Applicants
- Valid Pakistani passport
- Clear passport copy
- Valid qualifying multi-entry visa or residency permit (as listed above)
- Proof that the qualifying visa or permit remains valid for at least 90 days from intended entry
- Recent personal photo
All submitted information must match the passport exactly. Inaccurate or incomplete submissions may lead to refusal.
Apply Only If You Meet the Eligibility Conditions
If you meet the eligibility requirements described above, you may proceed with the online application process.
If you do not meet these conditions, you must apply through the Iraqi embassy or consulate.
