What should I do while waiting for my Iraq e-Visa to be ready?

While your application is being processed, please monitor your email inbox and spam/junk folder regularly — we may need to contact you for additional information.

Is the Iraq e-Visa single or multiple entry?

All Iraq e-Visas issued through our platform are currently single-entry. This means you may enter Iraq once only using the approved visa.

Multiple-entry visas are generally issued under special categories—such as students enrolled in Iraqi institutions, employees working in Iraq (applications submitted by their employer to the Residency Office), or spouses of Iraqi citizens. These types of visas require a separate procedure through the Iraqi residency office and cannot be applied for online via our system.

What are the Iraq e-Visa photo requirements?

For your Iraq e-Visa application, your photo must meet the official requirements. The easiest way is to stand in front of a plain white wall and have someone take the picture for you.

  • Neutral face, no smile.
  • Looking straight at the camera.
  • White or light gray background.
  • No headwear (unless for religious reasons; face must be fully visible).

  • Sunglasses, hats, or anything blocking the face.

Yes. You may submit an Iraq e-Visa application for a family member, friend, or employee, as long as you have their consent and provide accurate, valid documents.

When applying on behalf of someone else, you will need:

  • A clear scan of their passport photo page (see passport requirements).

How early should I apply for my Iraq e-Visa?

We recommend applying as early as possible to avoid delays:

  • Group A nationalities: Apply at least 7 days before travel. Most approvals are issued within 6–72 hours. :contentReference[oaicite:0]{index=0}
  • Group B nationalities: Apply at least 3–4 weeks before travel. Processing typically takes 8–18 business days on average, and can be longer during peak periods. :contentReference[oaicite:1]{index=1}

During your application we display the estimated processing time for your nationality so you know exactly what to expect before payment. Religious seasons (such as Arba’een and Ramadan) can cause longer wait times — apply well in advance if traveling during these periods.

What happens if my travel dates change after I apply for the Iraq e-Visa?

Do children need their own Iraq e-Visa application?

Yes. Every traveler to Iraq — including children and infants — must have their own approved Iraq e-Visa.

For children’s applications you will need:

  • A clear scan of the child’s passport photo page.
  • A recent passport-style photo of the child.
  • Accurate travel details as they will appear on the visa.

Applications for minors must be completed by a parent or legal guardian.

What happens if I overstay my Iraq e-Visa?

If you stay in Iraq after your e-Visa expires, you must act quickly to avoid serious penalties.

✅ If you go to the Residency Office voluntarily:

  • You will need to pay the overstay fine.
  • You must apply for an exit visa — this process is done manually at the Residency Office and cannot be completed at the airport.
  • Depending on the situation, you may receive a temporary entry ban (up to 2 years) or, in some cases, no ban at all.

⚠️ If you are caught with an invalid visa:

  • This could happen during a police checkpoint, ID check, or any other incident.
  • You will likely be detained and deported.
  • In most cases, this also results in a long entry ban (6 months – 2 years).

Best advice: Always resolve any overstay directly with the Residency Office before you are stopped, to reduce the risk of detention or a long-term ban.

Can I enter Iraq from any border with the Iraq e-Visa?

The Iraq e-Visa allows entry through recognised international airports and land borders within Iraq’s federal territory. However:

  • If you are **entering the Kurdistan Region of Iraq** (for example via Erbil International Airport or the Ibrahim Al Khalil Border Crossing into the Kurdistan Region), you may face **additional regional fees or requirements** specific to that region.
  • For the smoothest entry experience (and to ensure your visa is valid for all parts of Iraq), you should consider arriving at a federal Iraqi border or airport — especially if you plan to travel beyond the Kurdistan Region.

Do I need to print my Iraq e-Visa, or is a digital copy enough?

We recommend carrying both:

  • A printed copy of your Iraq e-Visa to present at immigration.
  • A digital copy saved on your phone or device.

While some officers may accept a digital version, having a printed copy ensures you can proceed even if your phone battery is low or there are technical issues.

What is the refund policy for Iraq e-Visa applications?

By applying through our platform, you agree to the following refund rules. Please read them carefully before submitting your Iraq e-Visa application:

✅ When a full refund is possible

  • You did not receive your e-Visa after the processing time shown during your application, and
  • The delay was not caused by incorrect documents, missing information, or government-related delays outside our control (such as holidays or additional security checks).

❌ When a refund is NOT possible

  • Application rejected: If your application is refused by the Iraqi authorities.
  • Change of mind: If you decide not to travel after applying.
  • Unused visa: If your visa is issued but you do not use it.
  • Incorrect application: If you submitted wrong details or documents and the visa is issued or rejected.
  • Processing in progress: Once your application has been submitted to the Iraqi authorities, it cannot be canceled or refunded.

The application fee covers the review of your documents, processing, and submission to the authorities. These costs apply whether the application is approved or not.

Important: Refund eligibility is always determined based on the processing time displayed during your application, which you confirmed and accepted before payment.

Your Iraq e-Visa application through our platform includes the required Iraqi visitor health insurance as part of the process. There is no separate purchase needed for this insurance; the cover is built into your e-Visa fee.

Important: This mandatory health-insurance policy is sufficient for visa compliance. You may choose additional travel insurance for extra protection (e.g., trip cancellation or lost luggage), but it is not required for the visa itself.

No additional fee: If you enter Iraq through a **federal entry point** (for example, Baghdad International Airport, Basra International Airport or Najaf International Airport) and you’re from a “Group A” country, then the fee shown is all you pay.

Additional regional fee applies: If you plan to enter via the Kurdistan Region of Iraq (for example through Erbil International Airport or the Ibrahim Al Khalil Border Crossing), you may be charged an extra regional fee. This will also be shown before you complete your application.
